Ms. Farida resides in the village of Sar Khor Qalacha in the 7th district of Kandahar city. After extensive efforts and investigations, it was determined that her family was deserving and was included in the kitchen gardening project.

Ms. Farida faced numerous challenges. Being a widow and an elderly woman, she was extremely poor and the sole caretaker of her family of eight members. Most of the family members were children, and the older ones were daughters who, due to environmental challenges, could not work. Another challenge was that water in her home was costly, and the soil quality was not suitable for agriculture. Additionally, the family faced numerous other life difficulties.

With the financial, professional, and moral support of Search and ADNO organizations, Ms. Farida’s family was able to provide her with financial and technical resources. By resolving their challenges, the kitchen Gardening project was implemented, enabling them to generate income.

Search and ADNO organizations provided proper training and guidance according to the principles of the kitchen gardening plan. Additionally, they provided $75 to facilitate the implementation of the project and resolve existing challenges.

Following these steps, all members of Ms. Farida’s family got involved and created a positive and productive atmosphere. This had a beneficial impact not only on the family but also on the community. It reduced the family’s needs, increased market production, and contributed to greenery and productivity, creating positive effects overall.

The kitchen gardening training proved to be a valuable project that will continue to benefit them in the future. Ms. Farida and her family learned the significant advantages of having a kitchen Gardening.

Ms. Farida expressed her satisfaction and hope for more training and assistance in the future so she could learn more and increase production. Ultimately, she aims to become self-reliant and escape poverty.
